Relay Recess- Friday, April 27th, 2012
On Friday, April 27th, all King Lab students will be participating in an American Cancer Society sponsored event called Relay Recess. This event is a scaled down version of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, and is geared towards spreading cancer awareness and raising money for cancer research. All students are encouraged to raise money for the event, and all of the money that is collected will be donated to the American Cancer Society in the hopes that one day a cure will be found. Grades K-4 will participate in the
event on the morning of the 27th, walking aroundthe field outside, listening to music, and participating in educational activities, and Grades 5-8 will do the same in the afternoon. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school and for our students, we hope you will donate and join the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer!
Important Dates:
Friday, April 13th: Students can donate $2.00 and bring their favorite school appropriate hat to wear for the entire school day. Teachers and Staff are encouraged to participate as well!
Friday, April 20th: Students who donate $1.00 today will be able to submit a song choice for the day of the event. All songs that are requested will be played during Relay Recess!
Donations will be collected during school in teacher fundraising cans, but may also be submitted online (www.relayrecess.org/kinglabdistrict67il - will be up and running it by Monday, April 23rd - thank you for your patience).
